I am Shelly, a person living in Berlin. This city, which is my hometown, is located in Germany (EU). It is a city that melts together many cultures, lifestyles, forms of art, and politics. A city that negotiates the complexity of life itself day by day and shapes biographies. Just like mine.
I was born in East Germany in 1988. Yes, lucky me, heh, in the DDR. As a little one, I had many fights with systems like school, family structures, and work relations. All these systems had their own negotiations with the upheavals of the downfall of the DDR and the SED regime.
But and her is my little self reflection for you about me, time brings all parts of living together and decisions are like little glimpses, moments of their effect. I like to observe and study this moments and sometimes it feels like a kind of magic in all interactions off this little glimpses. This is fascinating!

If you want to dig a little deeper 🙂 I am queer and somewhat non-neurotypical. This implies that I often carry more questions than answers regarding human connection.
Maybe that is why I love photography. It helps me understand interactions, re-experience a moment, or simply contemplate the composition of an image – its layers, light, shadows, and elements.
